JuJy 2009 We went to KZN, Although the main reason behind the trip was for the
burial of my dad’s ashes, we had a small vacation.
We left Pretoria at about 1am We had a nice trip to just after Piet Retief, Between Piet Retief and
Pongola there was a lot off roadwork’s with stop/go control , this at 4am and
winter. Sometimes waited in excess of 20min. Once in Pongola we stoped for a
Wimpy breakfast, This was about 6am. We got to Richards bay at about 10am. During the rest
of the day I spend driving thru Empangeni , Richards bay and Heatonville , just
travelling thru memory lane where I spend most my childhood. The next day we
headed for Durban, once again we got into Durban early and had breakfast at
Wimpy. We spend the day at Durban’s main
beachfront, later the afternoon we headed to Pennington to our chalet no4 at
Pennington Beach Resort, What a cool , nice and economical place to stay. The
next day we left dor Durbs to go and do what we intended to do. The rest of the
few days we spent on the beach and just driving around and going to see Ice Age
3 at the Pavilion Mall. The Saturday we went to the Virginia Air show We left at
about 4pm and headed back to Pretoria. We got home at about 11pm. Thank you Lord
for protecting us during the long trips we had.
